The House overwhelmingly passed a resolution supporting Israel and condemning Hamas in its first legislative action in weeks, but a handful of Democrats and one Republican voted against it.

In the 412-10-6 vote, the House showed support for Israel after Hamas killed 1,400 in an attack. But some progressives criticized Israel’s far deadlier response against Hamas.

Reps. Rashida Tlaib, Jamaal Bowman, Al Green, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and others voted no. Six Democrats voted “present.”

One Republican, Rep. Thomas Massie, opposed it, saying sanctions could lead to war and hurt citizens more than governments. He also opposed foreign aid pledges and perceived open-ended military commitments.

The resolution reaffirms U.S. security assistance for Israel and unequivocally condemns Hamas’ “brutal war.” It slams Iran’s terror support, demanding full sanctions enforcement.

Some 7,000 have died in Gaza, including nearly 3,000 children, per Gaza officials. Israel’s army has launched a ground invasion targeting Hamas with tanks.

Arab nations condemned forced displacement and collective punishment in Gaza while affirming Israel’s self-defense rights.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene introduced a resolution to censure Rep. Tlaib for claiming Israel bombed a hospital despite U.S. intelligence signaling a Hamas misfire. The bombing killed hundreds.

Greene accused Tlaib of inciting an “insurrection,” referring to a pro-Palestinian protest where 300 were arrested. Tlaib spoke at the protest.
