President Biden took a playful jab at some conservative theories surrounding the NFL and musician Taylor Swift on Sunday night. After the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime to win Super Bowl LVII, Biden posted on X: “Just like we drew it up” alongside a meme depicting himself with laser eyes.

The meme was a reference to “Dark Brandon,” an internet phenomenon poking fun at some of the more outlandish claims made by members of the pro-Trump right. In recent months, as Swift began dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, some conservative media alleged without evidence that the NFL had rigged playoff results to ensure a Chiefs Super Bowl victory.

The theories suggested this was done so that Swift, a vocal Biden supporter in 2020, would endorse the president again after celebrating a Chiefs championship with her boyfriend Kelce.

While Swift was seen celebrating on the field with Kelce following the Chiefs overtime win, she has not publicly endorsed any candidate for the 2024 presidential election. Biden’s cheeky tweet, which included the meme with the quotation “Just like we drew it up,” appeared aimed at poking fun at the unfounded speculation around the NFL and Swift’s potential influence on the playoffs and Super Bowl outcome.
