DeSantis Polls 2nd to Trump in Iowa with 500+ endorsements for 2024 Primary bid

As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has received endorsements from over 500 current and former elected officials across the country, according to his campaign. This growing list of supporters, spanning federal, state and local officials, demonstrates strength in states like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

The endorsements come as DeSantis polls at 20% in Iowa in Real Clear Politics polls, behind former President Donald Trump at 52% and ahead of former ambassador Nikki Haley at 15.8%.

DeSantis is campaigning in Iowa this week with several high-profile conservative backers, including Rep. Chip Roy. Roy stated he is “barnstorming Iowa” with DeSantis and his wife Casey to help them “win the Iowa Caucus.” Roy said he “fully endorses Ron DeSantis because it’s time for a new generation of leadership,” Fox News Digital reported.

In addition, DeSantis was joined at a recent Iowa event by Rep. Thomas Massie and will be accompanied at events this week by Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt. DeSantis communications director Andrew Romeo said these supporters will ensure Iowans understand that in his view, DeSantis will ‘restore our economy, and revive America,” he told Fox.
