Florida state Rep. Anna Eskamani (D) has voiced criticism over Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s (R-Ga.) decision to attend an event in Florida commemorating the third anniversary of the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Eskamani expressed her disbelief on X, stating, “Just another day in Florida where the local Republican Party in Osceola County is hosting an ‘anniversary’ event to mark January 6th and Marjorie Taylor Green is the ‘special’ guest. Was really hoping this was a joke when I first saw it.”
Eskamani shared screenshots of the event details, which extend an invitation to Republicans in Kissimmee, Fla., located just outside Orlando, to join Greene and receive a signed copy of her recently published memoir, titled “MTG.” The invitation describes Greene as a prominent MAGA leader who prioritizes American interests over foreign influence and special lobbying.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Westgate Resort from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and ticket prices range from $45 to $1,000, according to the event’s website. In addition to general admission, attendees can purchase a Super VIP pass for a private briefing with Greene, a VIP pass for a photo opportunity with the lawmaker, or a pass specifically for honoring Republican women.
The event details also mention a private briefing session exclusive to Super VIP members. The invitation emphasizes the opportunity to engage with Greene, describing her as “a leading figure who believes in a government working for its people.”
