The criticism stems from
Greene's motion to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) from his position
, which Peek described as an attempt to "burn down the House, metaphorically speaking."

Greene is leading the charge against Johnson after he outlined plans to consider foreign aid, a move that Johnson has called "absurd."

In her column, Peek wrote, "It's high time someone in the Republican Party told Marjorie Taylor Greene to turn all that bombastic self-serving showmanship and drama queen energy on Democrats, and stop trying to defeat her own party."

She added, "The internal squabbles of the party need to stop. If Marjorie Taylor Greene and others want to oppose aid to Ukraine or the FISA bill, they can vote against it. That's how democracy works."

Peek also had a message for Greene, quoting Hillary Clinton: "Get over yourself. The mission today is to elect Donald Trump."

While Peek's column criticized Greene's actions, she also urged the Republican party to focus on supporting Trump's 2024 presidential bid.
