Op-Ed: Fetterman Accused of Betraying Democratic Values
Matt Roan, chair of the Cumberland County Democratic Party, authored an op-ed in PennLive on March 22 sharply criticizing the senator for his recent political moves, which Roan described as a betrayal of the Democratic platform. Roan, who previously supported Fetterman's campaign and recovery, now claims the senator’s shift has become "untenable.""Fetterman is now a leader among Democratic senators when it comes to capitulating to Donald Trump and the Republican Party that he controls," Roan wrote. Criticism Mounts Over Fetterman’s Votes and GOP-Backed Legislation
Roan took issue with several of Fetterman’s recent decisions, including his vote to confirm Pam Bondi as attorney general—despite her refusal to affirm that Trump lost the 2020 election—and his support for a GOP-led funding bill that Roan argued would “enable the continued decimation of federal agencies at the hands of South African billionaire Elon Musk.” Julia Demaree Nikhinson-Pool via Imagn Images
Fetterman Skips Town Halls, Plans Joint Appearance With GOP Senator
Fetterman also faced criticism for his refusal to host town halls in Pennsylvania and for choosing to appear publicly only at a joint event with Republican Senator Dave McCormick and his wife Dina Powell to promote a children’s book. That event is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh on March 29."Enough is enough," Roan added. "Fetterman seems disinterested in serving in his important position, and his actions in the Senate are actively harming Pennsylvanians." Jack Gruber / USA TODAY NETWORK

Fetterman Denies GOP Party Switch
Despite these developments, Fetterman has denied rumors of a party switch. In a January interview on The View, he stated, "I am not going to become a Republican.
