In brief…
- Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Sen. Lindsey Graham for not having enough evidence to impeach President Biden over Hunter Biden's business deals.
- Greene took issue with Graham's recent "Meet the Press" interview where he admitted no "smoking gun" has been found.
- Greene suggested Graham could face a pro-Trump primary challenger in 2024 due to his comments.
- Graham's remarks marked a shift from his past claims of misconduct against the Bidens on Fox News.
Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized fellow GOP Senator Lindsey Graham during a speech on Sunday for admitting he hasn’t seen clear evidence to impeach President Joe Biden over his son’s foreign business dealings.
Speaking at a Turning Point USA conference, Greene took aim at Graham’s recent interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Graham stated the House Oversight Committee and its conservative partners have failed to produce a “smoking gun” linking Biden to his son Hunter’s overseas ventures.
Greene condemned Graham’s remarks, questioning how he could claim insufficient proof when Republicans have supposedly uncovered damning information. She then asked the crowd if they supported impeaching Biden, receiving cheers in response.
“Well, I think somebody else better run for Senator in South Carolina,” Greene commented at a Turning Point USA conference, implying Graham should face a pro-Trump primary challenger in 2024.
Graham’s NBC interview marked a significant shift for the Senator, who departed from his previous rhetoric alleging misconduct by the Bidens. Just months ago on Fox News, Graham accused Democrats of holding the Bidens to a different standard than Donald Trump and his family.
“When it comes to Donald Trump, there are no rules. Destroy him, destroy his family,” Graham told Sean Hannity in August. “When it comes to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden, they get away with almost everything.”
