A janitor at an elementary school in New Jersey is facing serious criminal charges after allegedly contaminating food served to students and possessing child pornography.

Giovanni Impellizzeri, 25, was a janitor at Elizabeth Moore Elementary School in Upper Deerfield Township since September 2019. Earlier this week, school officials contacted authorities about concerning anonymous tips they had received regarding Impellizzeri’s behavior at the school.

An investigation by law enforcement has revealed disturbing allegations that Impellizzeri deliberately contaminated food and utensils in the school cafeteria with his bodily fluids on multiple occasions between October 26-30.

Screenshots obtained by police allegedly show Impellizzeri urinating on bowls, performing sexual acts with food items, and wiping his privates on bread before returning it to be served to students. He is also accused of spraying bleach on containers of cucumbers intended for children’s lunches.

“The defendant did things that would endanger the well-being of students at the school,” authorities said.

In addition to the food tampering charges, Impellizzeri is facing child pornography charges stemming from photos and videos found in his possession allegedly showing him engaging in sexual acts with inanimate objects at his home in Vineland on October 22.

Investigators emphasized that Impellizzeri did not produce the child pornography himself. He is accused of possessing and distributing the illegal material.

Prosecutors are currently testing samples from Impellizzeri to determine if students could have been put at risk of any infectious disease transmission from the cafeteria food contamination. At least some children have reportedly become ill recently, according to parents.

Impellizzeri worked for the school district for over three years before these heinous accusations came to light last week. He is charged with the distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography, aggravated assault, and tampering with food.
