Actor Robert De Niro forcefully advocated for re-electing President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2024 election during his recent appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher.

“We wanna live in a world that we want to live in and enjoy living in, or live in a nightmare? Vote for Trump and you’ll get the nightmare, vote for Biden and we’ll be back to normalcy,” De Niro stated.

The two-time Oscar winner did not mince words when criticizing former President Donald Trump, calling him “a total monster” that he could never portray on screen. “I can’t see any good in him. Nothing, nothing at all, nothing redeemable,” De Niro said. “The guy is such a mean, nasty, hateful person…we couldn’t believe that it happened” after Trump’s 2016 victory.

De Niro, 80, also dismissed the Republican response to Biden’s State of the Union address from Sen. Katie Britt as “so lame.” The actor said he had no intent of slowing down, telling Maher “I keep going because I know if you don’t keep going, you’re gonna atrophy and you’re gonna dry up and I don’t wanna do that.”
