Beverage company Anheuser-Busch has announced a new scholarship initiative through its Bud Light brand to support families of fallen or disabled first responders.

Bud Light said it will commit $3 million in academic scholarships as part of an expanded partnership with Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to spouses and children of fallen or disabled service members and first responders.

The new scholarship pledge builds on Bud Light’s 13-year partnership with Folds of Honor. Since the partnership began, Bud Light and its parent company Anheuser-Busch have donated $21.7 million to Folds of Honor, contributing to over 51,000 scholarships, according to a company press release.

Bud Light has also formed a partnership with the National Football League that will last through the 2023-2024 season in an effort to further support first responders. As part of the collaboration, Bud Light and the NFL will work together on local campaigns with NFL teams to honor first responders. They will also hold in-stadium scholarship presentations during games and create other co-branded content to recognize first responders, the press release stated.

In the press release, Anheuser-Busch’s CEO Brendan Whitworth conveyed satisfaction with the company’s long-standing collaboration with Folds of Honor. He stated that Anheuser-Busch is proud to assist in Folds of Honor’s mission of providing educational support to military and first responder families.

Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, CEO of Folds of Honor, said the organization looks forward to continuing its partnership with Anheuser-Busch and the NFL to impact first responders’ families through the new scholarships.
