In brief…

  • In response, Cardi B angrily threw her microphone in the direction of the offender.
  • Cardi B later voiced frustration that she had been hit in the face when she had only invited fans to splash her body.
  • After the concert, Cardi B retweeted a video of the drink-throwing altercation with the caption "Jealous Ass B***h".

Cardi B is the latest music artist to have an object thrown at her during a live performance. But unlike the others, the Bronx-bred rapper decided to retaliate. During an outdoor concert at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas on Saturday, Cardi got a drink tossed directly in her face. In response, the “I Like It” singer angrily threw her microphone in the direction of the offender.

Videos circulating on social media show the tense moment along with other clips of Cardi’s performance last night. In one video, Cardi can be seen encouraging fans to splash her with water, saying “That s**t feels good” as concertgoers sprinkled her from a distance. “Put that sh*t in my p***y,” she told the crowd.

While Cardi seemed fine with the audience throwing water at first, she later expressed frustration about getting hit in the face with a drink. “I said splash my p***y, not my face, b**ch,” she shouted to the crowd after the incident. Cardi later retweeted a video of the altercation on Twitter with the caption “Jealous Ass B**ch.”

Getting objects thrown on stage is unfortunately an increasingly common experience for performers. Earlier this month, 29-year-old singing star Harry Styles was hit in the eye by an object thrown by an audience member during a concert in Vienna for his Love on Tour show. Other recent “stage-struck” performer victims include Drake, Bebe Rexha, Kelsea Ballerini and Ava Max.

Cardi has a history of not taking disrespect lightly, having been involved in a shoe-throwing incident with Nicki Minaj and a fight with two bartenders.
