One of college football’s great annual traditions takes place this weekend as the Georgia Bulldogs take on the Florida Gators in Jacksonville.

This SEC East clash, formerly known as “The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party,” will be the 101st meeting between these two storied programs.

History

This weekend will mark the 91st time that Florida and Georgia face off in Jacksonville. Georgia has the overall series lead at 54-44-2, with a 48-41-1 record specifically in Jacksonville matchups. The game was moved to Jacksonville in 1933 since the location was accessible for both schools’ fan bases.

Last season, Georgia defeated Florida 44-20. The Gators’ most recent win in the rivalry came in 2020 when they beat the Bulldogs 44-28.

Georgia is currently on the nation’s longest winning streak at 24 consecutive games. Florida has never upset a top-ranked AP team while unranked themselves.

Two weeks ago, Florida ended a five-game road losing skid by beating South Carolina 41-39.

Both Florida and Georgia are coming off bye weeks heading into this weekend’s matchup.
