- Harris expressed her position that American voters will reject Trump in favor of "freedom and democracy"
Vice President Kamala Harris joined the hosts of The View on Wednesday to sound the alarm about Donald Trump potentially becoming president again in 2024. She warned that Americans should be “scared” about Trump’s ongoing political resurgence.
Harris pointed to the January 6th insurrection, where Trump supporters attacked the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results, as evidence of the havoc another Trump term could wreak. “We should all be scared,” Harris said. “This election requires that President Biden and I and all of us in this administration, we’ve got to earn re-election.”
The Vice President drew sharp contrasts between the Trump era and the Biden administration’s current era. She accused Trump of glorifying the Capitol rioters as “patriots” and said he would “weaponize the Department of Justice” if back in power.
Harris follows other major political figures like Hillary Clinton, Chris Christie and Liz Cheney who have all recently appeared on The View to warn of the dangers of Trump retaking office. The show’s conservative host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump staffer, has also repeatedly denounced the former president.
Harris expressed faith that ultimately “the American people are going to vote in favor of what is in the best interest of the future of our country.” She said the choice in 2024 will be between “freedom and democracy” under Biden versus “chaos” under Trump.
