Trump’s posts included additional claims, such as accusing former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) of having “refused to accept the help which was offered for security” on January 6, a statement that has been debunked. Trump also criticized committee members, describing them as dishonest and suggesting they had caused harm under the guise of investigating the attack. Last month Trump used his Truth Social platform to allege that Cheney committed “egregious and unthinkable acts of crime.” “The statement came in the wake of Republican critiques, which labeled the committee’s performance as a ‘failure’ in an interim report.”
