Marjorie Taylor Greene: Biden ‘treason’ gives Republicans grounds to remove him from 2024 election ballots

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) cautioned Democrats that efforts to block former President Donald Trump from appearing on primary ballots could lead Republicans to retaliate with similar moves against President Joe Biden.
“If the Democrats want to start making these rules, well guess what? We can use the same exact rules,” Greene told Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance” on Thursday.
On Tuesday, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled Trump was ineligible for the state’s 2024 GOP primary ballot based on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. That section disqualifies those who engage in insurrection against the Constitution after taking an oath to support it. The court determined Trump participated in an insurrection on Jan. 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, even though he has never been charged with such a crime.
Some other states are exploring similar moves. California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis has called for the state’s top election official to consider options for blocking Trump from the primary ballot. Efforts in Minnesota and New Hampshire failed, and a decision is still pending before the Michigan Supreme Court.
“For example, we could take Joe Biden off the ballot in red states and other states because he is committing treason with his border policies, and the invasion has gotten so bad at the southern border,” she said.
The congresswoman also raised the prospect of using an impeachment inquiry underway in the House Oversight Committee as grounds for ballot removal.
“We produced evidence that Joe Biden has definitely participated in [son] Hunter Biden’s business deals with foreign countries and sold his power for political favors, and he’s received the financial benefit from that because we have the checks,” Greene said.
