- Other speakers include GOP candidates challenging Sen. Baldwin and running for open House seat
- Greene's prominent role shows her popularity with Republican base despite controversial history
U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for her far-right views, will be the keynote speaker at the 2024 Lincoln Reagan Dinner fundraiser in Ashwaubenon next month. The annual event hosted by the Republican Party of Brown County will take place on March 16 at the Stadium View Event Center.
Other featured speakers include Eric Hovde, who is challenging incumbent Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin; Stacey Klein, a U.S. Senate candidate from western Wisconsin; Roger Roth, who is running for the 8th Congressional District seat held by retiring Rep. Mike Gallagher; and Alex Bruesewitz, a potential candidate for Congress.
The Republican Party announced Greene as the keynote speaker in a Facebook post, calling her “an inspiring and impactful leader.” Greene is a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump. On social media, she has urged Republican primary candidate Nikki Haley to drop out of the presidential race.
Greene was one of 147 House Republicans who voted to overturn the 2020 election results, despite no evidence of widespread fraud. She also supports an impeachment inquiry against President Biden.
The Lincoln Reagan Dinner is the county GOP’s major annual fundraiser. Greene’s appearance as keynote speaker will likely draw significant attention given her history of making controversial statements.
