Several of Greene's Republican colleagues have publicly criticized her statements.

Carlos Gimenez, who represents a hurricane-prone district in Florida, responded to Greene's X posts, saying, "NEW FLASH —> Humans cannot create or control hurricanes. Anyone who thinks they can, needs to have their head examined."  House Creative Services / Wikimedia

Chuck Edwards from North Carolina, whose district was affected by Hurricane Helene, issued a press release stating that "nobody can control the weather."  United States Congress / Wikimedia

Mike Lawler of New York told Axios that Greene's rhetoric "doesn't dignify a response – other than to say, of course no one can control the weather."  United States Congress / Wikimedia

An anonymous House Republican described Greene's beliefs as "loony tunes," pointing out the inconsistency in her stance on climate issues, Axios reported.

They said, "She thinks we have no impact on the climate but somehow control the weather."  Gage Skidmore / Wikimedia

Greene attempted to clarify her position, suggesting that government organizations like NOAA might be involved in weather modification.  Gage Skidmore / Wikimedia

She referenced cloud seeding, a long-standing practice that can enhance a cloud's ability to produce rain or snow.  Gage Skidmore / Wikimedia
