The Colorado State Patrol

Due to the delayed payment, the case was escalated to an Eagle County court. Drew Sexton, Boebert's campaign manager, confirmed that the fine was eventually paid on July 3. He explained that there had been a mix-up with the payment method, stating that Boebert had mailed a check which was returned to her for unclear reasons.

telling
news outlet Westword, "She called and said, 'I have a ticket with a court date and I need to take care of it.' She contacted the court on July 3 and paid it online."

Reflecting on these incidents in her book, Boebert acknowledged her mistakes, writing, "But when it gets down to it, I don't really have an excuse. I should have shown up to court. I should have paid the tickets on time. I should have shown law enforcement the respect they deserve. I should have played by the rules."
