Trump Wins $24.5 Million Settlement From YouTube Over Account Ban

YouTube has agreed to pay $24.5 million to resolve a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump over the suspension of his account following the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. The settlement was disclosed in a federal court filing in Oakland, California. The White House / Wikimedia
Breakdown of Funds
Of the total settlement, $22 million will go to the Trust for the National Mall to fund the construction of a White House state ballroom — a project Trump has pushed since returning to office, according to CBS News. The remaining $2.5 million will be distributed to other plaintiffs, including the American Conservative Union and individuals such as Andrew Baggiani, Austen Fletcher, Maryse Veronica Jean-Louis, Frank Valentine, Kelly Victory, and Naomi Wolf. Settlements With Other Platforms
This marks another payout Trump has secured from tech companies that suspended his accounts after January 6. Previous settlements included agreements with Meta’s Facebook and Instagram, as well as Twitter, now known as X. Robert Deutsch-Imagn Images
No Admission of Liability
