In brief…

  • Cher allegedly had her son Elijah removed from a hotel in order to get him into drug treatment.

  • Sources say Elijah, who has long struggled with drug addiction since childhood, is now in rehab.
Cher (above) had her son Elijah, who has battled drug addiction, forcibly removed from a hotel in order to get him into rehab, according to court filings.

Music legend Cher allegedly had her son Elijah Blue Allman forcibly removed from a New York City hotel last November in an apparent attempt to help save the 47-year-old, who has long struggled with drugs and addiction.

The “kidnapping” took place on Allman and his wife’s wedding anniversary as they attempted to reconcile their marriage, according to court documents obtained by The Daily Mail.

Allman’s wife, Marieangela King stated in legal filings that four men entered their New York hotel room saying they were hired by Cher, who was worried about Allman’s health.

“I am currently unaware of my husband’s well-being or whereabouts,” King said. “‘I understand his family’s efforts to make sure he is well, and I want what is best for my husband.”

Allman has recently entered drug rehab, sources told The Daily Mail.

Cher and Allman, 47, have a strained relationship. He is Cher’s son with her second husband, rock legend Gregg Allman, who died in 2017.

Allman has publicly discussed his longtime heroin addiction that began around age 11. He married King, a singer, in 2013, but filed for divorce in 2021.
