Dua Lipa Secretly Got Married Saturday
By Erica Coleman · June 2, 2026
On Saturday afternoon, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner arrived at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in London in separate black cabs. They left married.
The ceremony was small and private — a register office wedding in the way that London does register office weddings, which is to say quietly, quickly, and with no advance notice to anyone who was not specifically invited. The guest list was described by people familiar with the event as close friends and immediate family only. The photographs that circulated afterward were not paparazzi shots — they were images from inside the ceremony, shared by people who were there.
Then the couple flew to Sicily.
A three-day celebration is underway at a private estate in Sicily beginning Monday, a party that in scale and guest list more closely resembles what most people would think of as a wedding reception — the part with the dancing and the speeches and the meal that lasts until midnight. The London ceremony was the legal and intimate act. Sicily is the celebration.
The marriage follows an engagement that Lipa announced in a British Vogue interview in June 2025, in language that made its significance clear without being overwhelming about it.
“Yeah, we’re engaged. It’s very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever — it’s a really special feeling.”
Lipa, 30, and Turner, 35, first met at The River Cafe in London when she was having dinner with her father and he was at the restaurant with friends. The introduction was made by the restaurant’s co-founder. They ran into each other again in Los Angeles, where they discovered they were reading the same book — “Trust” by Hernán Díaz, which won the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Turner leaned over and asked her what she was reading. She showed him the cover. He had the same book in his bag.
They went public with their relationship in July 2024 after Lipa posted photos from the Glastonbury Festival — one of them with Turner’s arm around her shoulders, another with the two of them lying on the ground in conversation. They walked the Met Gala red carpet together in May 2025.
Turner, an actor best known for playing Buck Compton in “Band of Brothers” and for his roles in “Masters of the Air” and “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” described his definition of love in an interview with The Sunday Times last October in a way that suggested a man who had thought carefully about what he was building.
“I think true love is moments, consistency. It can’t be just one grand, sweeping thing. It’s all the little things and big things together, it’s an amalgamation.”
The wedding was on Saturday. By Monday, it was the most-searched celebrity story in the world.
