Courtney Love Pursues British Citizenship

Musician Courtney Love has revealed that she is in the process of obtaining British citizenship and intends to make the United Kingdom her permanent home. Speaking at a Royal Geographical Society event in London earlier this month, the 60-year-old singer shared her enthusiasm about settling in the UK while also offering sharp criticism of the current political landscape in the United States.  Andrea Fleming / Wikimedia

Love Expresses Excitement About UK Residency

"It's so great to live here. I’m finally getting my British citizenship in six months. I get to be a citizen—I'm applying, man! Can't get rid of me!" Love said, according to The Daily Mail.  Manfred Werner - Tsui / Wikimedia

Love’s Long-Term Stay in London

Love, best known as the frontwoman of the band Hole and the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, has reportedly been residing in London since 2019. While she has previously expressed admiration for life in the UK, her latest comments suggest a deeper commitment to leaving the United States behind.  A Horse With No Name / Wikimedia

Criticism of U.S. Political Landscape

During her remarks, Love criticized President Donald Trump and his inner circle, using the term "emperor-core" to describe what she sees as a culture of extravagance and wealth surrounding his administration. "In terms of Trump, and particularly this group... it's like emperor-core—like, [they're] wearing million-dollar watches," she said.

She went on to describe the political environment in America as increasingly concerning. "Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago. It's frightening now. It's like cyanide now," she remarked.  House Creative Services / Wikimedia

Other Celebrities Moving Abroad

Love is not the only celebrity who has decided to move overseas following Trump’s return to office. Reports indicate that actress and television personality Rosie O’Donnell has relocated to Ireland, while comedian Ellen DeGeneres has also reportedly moved abroad, according to Business Insider.  Mark J.
