In brief…
- Meghan McCain criticized former The View co-hosts for comments comparing her to Hunter Biden
- Ana Navarro implied McCain benefited from nepotism like "half of Washington"
- House Republicans began impeachment proceedings against President Biden related to Hunter's foreign work
Former co-host of “The View” Meghan McCain admonished her previous colleagues this week after host Ana Navarro implied McCain benefited from nepotism. During a discussion about Hunter Biden, Navarro stated, “People sitting at this table did it,” referring to influence-peddling using a famous last name. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Navarro to clarify who she meant, to which Navarro responded, “I’m not talking about currently.”
McCain blasted the comparison on X, calling it “absurd, defamatory and slanderous.” “I don’t understand why my former colleagues…bring me up and slander me on an almost weekly basis,” she wrote. “I have never been accused of a crime in my life and am a patriotic American – I would never and have never ‘influenced peddled’ in my life, let alone with foreign adversaries. Not all politicians children are the same – and I am no Hunter Biden.”
House Republicans initiated impeachment proceedings this week against President Biden based on allegations he benefited from his son Hunter’s foreign dealings. McCain stated, “I will be consulting my lawyers regarding what was libeled against me on The View this morning,” regarding the comments made about her on the show.
